what is wallaby?

We’re not a preschool, child care center, kids’ gym or indoor playground. We are the eastside’s one-of-a-kind source for the best classes for babies, toddlers and preschoolers, and great services for their parents and caregivers too. No matter your family structure or parenting style, we’ll make you feel right at home.

Please explore our website to learn more about our unique offerings, including parent & me classes, children’s birthday parties, and our drop-off playtime (visit our Schedule page for details) – and feel free to contact us anytime to ask questions or schedule a tour. We can’t wait to become part of your family’s life!

what's new

Have you fallen behind on trips to your dentist/doctor/hair salon? Do you have a ton of errands to catch up on? Or could you use a little you time? Leave your little one with us for up to three hours, and our experienced caregivers will make sure he’s safe and happy. It’s as affordable, easier, and way more fun than getting a sitter. Available for children 0-5 years old. RSVP required (no drop-ins) and space is limited to 10 children, so please contact us as least one week in advance to let us know if you would like us to hold a spot for your child. Please note that you DO NOT need to be enrolled in a parent & me class to use drop-off playtime.

This unique class uses expressive arts, baby massage, developmental and sensory play, song and movement to help parents with children aged 0-12 months soothe their babies, build community, and increase their sense of parental competency and joy. Facilitated by the knowledgeable and loving Wesley Stahler, MFT, RDT, mother of 2 and early childhood mental health specialist with over 20 years of experience. Meets Tuesdays from 11-11:45am. $160 for 8 weeks. A new session – featuring water play, lap songs, finger play, a dance party, baby food making, a teddy bear tea party, dip-dyed onsies, decorating eggs, and celebrating Mother’s Day - starts April 22. Contact us to sign up.

This class will enable you to teach your child to use natural and fun-to-learn American Sign Language (ASL) signs to tell you if he is hungry, thirsty, needs a diaper change, and other important stuff (“I see a cat/airplane/banana!”) until his verbal abilities catch up to his intellectual ones. Research suggests that compared to other children, infants who use sign language speak sooner and score higher on tests of language ability when tested after second grade, plus better communication makes for less frustrated babies and happier parents. This class uses the PBS-endorsed Baby Signing Time curriculum that encourages signing and speaking together. Meets Tuesdays from 3-3:45pm OR Thursdays from 12:15-1pm. New sessions start the week of April 28. $160 for 8 classes, Please contact us to enroll.

Our parent & me classes offer children aged 10 months to 3+ years a variety of developmental experiences including music, art, movement, snack, storytime, and plenty of time for self-directed play and socialization. Our amazing teachers get to know and love each child’s unique interests and personality, and you get to make some new friends of your own. Moms, dads, grandparents, aunts, uncles, nannies… any adults who care for your child are equally welcome. Review our class schedule and contact us to enroll.
